Privacy Policy
Waves is a mood journal made by Tambour in Montréal. It is designed so that your data stays yours: there are no accounts, no servers of ours, no advertising and no analytics.
What the app stores
- Your mood entries (how you felt, a word, a note, and the feelings and life areas you choose) and your settings. These live on your device. If iCloud is enabled for the app, Apple syncs them between your own devices under your Apple Account; we never see them.
- Backups of your journal, in a folder you can see in the Files app.
Apple Health
With your permission, Waves:
- Writes the moods you log as Apple Health State of Mind samples, each tagged with a stable identifier so re-syncing never duplicates.
- Reads your State of Mind history, and can import moods other apps wrote to Health, so your history lives in one place.
Health data is used only to show you this information inside the app. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and never used for advertising or analytics. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps.
What we do not do
No accounts, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, and no sale or sharing of data. Waves makes no network requests of its own. Your data moves only through your own iCloud account.
Your control
Everything is on your device. Export your journal from the app's backup settings, or delete the app to remove it (and remove its Health permissions in the Health app).
